Kanga Medical – Structures

The Kanga Medical mod adds several structures to help you deal with the mods death mechanics, wellness and illnesses systems.

Mod mechanics

The graves will help you deal with the mod’s new death mechanics. When you die, you will initially lose 20% of your total xp. If you don’t have an empty grave when you die, your xp is permanently lost.

How do graves work? You simply put down an empty grave down beforehand. As soon as you die, your lost xp will be stored in the empty grave. It will remain there until you collect it. There is no timer on the grave, so you can collect your xp anytime you want. The primitive grave will give you 60% of your lost xp (that is 60% of the 20% of your total amount of xp you lost). The better quality grave will also give you 60% of your lost xp, but you can get more xp back by mourning your death. After 1 (rl) hour you can mourn by putting flowers on it. Doing so will give you back another 10% of the xp you lost. You can mourn 4 times. The grave is now completely used and you have gotten al of your lost xp back. An empty grave can be picked up and placed back down. A grave with xp in it can also be picked up, but the stored xp will be lost and you cannot place it back down. Remember, preparation is the key to xp preservation, so make sure you’ve got those empty graves down before you go adventuring!

You got sick? When you get an illness, an icon appears that tells you you are sick. You will also have a visual effect due to being sick (e.g. coughing). But you won’t know which illness you have. You can visit an apothecary (player) and ask him to diagnose you on the medical cot. This can only be done on a medical cot owned by the apothecary. You can also use the personal diagnostic station. Craft an illness reactive electrolyte in it along with a bloodpack (syringe) and activate the station with a candle. The device will give you a diagnose both on the top of your screen (text) as well on the ‘sick’ icon. You can now purchase the correct cure to heal yourself. Don’t go messing around with the cures without knowing which illness you have, because taking the wrong cure will give you some bad side effects and most likely kill you.
