Mod mechanics

The Blacksmith mod uses a skill based crafting system. The better skill the blacksmith has, the better quality weapons he can make. Using this method you can build high quality weapons without needing blueprints. The amount of points you put into your crafting skill will affect the quality of the item you can craft. The blacksmith reaches his maximum skill by putting 15 points into crafting skill, and reaching a level 70 character.

Weapons now also have a sharpness. Sharpness has an effect on the effectiveness of your tool. This means that a weapon will do less damage, while you use it. Players need to use the whetstone to keep it in tip top condition. Sharpness is not to be confused with Ark’s standard durability. Your weapon will still degrade and breake as usual.
